South Carolina's Official Powerlifting Bragging Rights Page
Brought to you by Unified Strength and Titus Strength & Fitness
Welcome to the Official South Carolina's Powerlifting Bragging Right Page. This page was created to highlight and document all of SC Strongest in the 3 big lifts. These lifts have to be completed at Titus Strength & Fitness and watched by 3 appointed persons by the directors at one of the fundraising parties.
Anyone who resides in SC can showcase their lifts and be put on the lists. Even if you do not reside in SC but want to participate, we have a TITUS STRENGTH page where you will be added along with the SC lifters. The TITUS STRENGTH page will document anyone who has completed their lifts at one of these events and place them accordingly.

This is a great way to donate to a great nonprofit along with showing off to everyone what you got. Below are the basic rule. This is more of a bro style gym lifting, not strict competition. So the rules are more relaxed.

General Rules:
-
Attempts - You can have as many attempts as you like. You can take the attempts whenever you like as long as the referees are ready and watching.
-
For the best total, the total has to be

Squat Rules:
-
Commands - There are no commands!
-
Equipment - We have a mono lift and combo racks. We have a squat bar or regular power bars. You can choose to use either. You can walk out or not. It will be documented on the sheet which method was used.
-
Depth - You can un-rack and start at any time. We are looking for at least just about parallel. The hip crease parallel with the TOP of the knee. If this is slightly above the referees may be good with it, as long as it isn't grossly above. Crowd participation can and may be used for judgement. Again, this is bro lifts.
-
Lockout - As long as you stand up unassisted to at least the starting height that the bar can be racked, that would be a good lift.
-
Worn Lifter Equipment - This is Raw lifting. The only equipment allowed would be Knee sleeves or wraps, wrist bands, and belt. No lifting suits or lifting/compression briefs allowed. Singlet is not required but allowed. It will be documented on the sheet what equipment was used.
-
Other - If you loose balance and your feet have to move, that's fine. As long as it was at a point that we would deem the lift was completed, or you were at least in a standing position. Halfway through the ascend and being caught but the spotters would not count, but if at the top you have to step to catch balance, that would be fine.

Bench Press Rules:
-
Commands - There are no commands!
-
Equipment - We have a mono lift and combo racks. You can choose to use either. It will be documented on the sheet which method was used.
-
The Lift - You can have a handoff or not, and you can start anytime you like. The only thing we are looking for is that you can press the bar to a position that you can rack the bar unassisted. The uprights can not be grossly low to help assist in re-racking the bar (Example: the uprights are 4" below what locked elbows would be if completely pressed out). Crowd participation can and may be used for judgement. Again, this is bro lifts.
-
Lockout - You can press to a locked out position and then ask for help returning the bar to the rack, or press out the bar and return to the rack how and when you please. As long as there doesn't have to be help in rising the bar to re-rack.
-
Worn Lifter Equipment - This is Raw lifting. The only equipment allowed would be wrist bands and belt. Singlet is not required but allowed. It will be documented on the sheet what equipment was used.
-
Other - Your feet/toes have to be in contact with the floor. Shoulders on the bench. The but has to be flat at the start of the descend but CAN rise to no more than about an inch or two. This will be determined by the referees, but can crowd participation can be used to help determine if it should be given or not.
-

Deadlift Rules:
-
Commands - There are no commands!
-
Equipment - We have deadlift bars and regular power bars. You can choose to use either. It will be documented on the sheet which bar was used.
-
The Lift - You can start the lift whenever you want. You can try multiple times. You can hitch, etc. Whatever you need to stand up.
-
Lockout - It will be deemed a good lift if you can stand erect with the load. As long as you are reasonably standing upright and reasonably locked, the lift will be deemed good. Crowd participation can and may be used for judgement. Again, this is bro lifts.
-
Worn Lifter Equipment - This is Raw lifting. The only equipment allowed would be Knee sleeves or wraps, wrist bands, and belt. No lifting suits or lifting/compression briefs allowed. Singlet is not required but allowed. It will be documented on the sheet what equipment was used. You can go barefoot or with shoes. No straps or grip assistance other than chalk.
-
Other - If you loose balance and your feet have to move, that's fine. As long as it was at a point that we would deem the lift was completed, or you were at least in a standing position. If at the top you have to step to catch balance, that would be fine.
